England were crowned Champions of the 3rd Annual Snow Polo World Cup in a final where they defeated Hong Kong China 6-5. Although the Australian team did not qualify for the quarter finals, they did show improvement at every game. Read the full Media Release here.

10.01.2014 Australia lost their first match of the tournament to Chile 4 v 0
On Friday the 10th January they take on England, with their final preliminary round match against Spain on Sunday.

The action will get underway on 8 January 2014, and continue until the grand final on 19 January. Last year’s winners Hong Kong China will return to the snow to defend their title, with 11 other 14-16 goal handicap teams vying to prise the trophy from their grasp: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, France, Mexico, New Zealand,
South Africa, Spain, and the USA.

The 16 goal team selected for the tour is:-

The Australian Polo Federation has been invited to send a representative team to compete in the 16 goal open FIP Snow Polo World Cup 2014 Invitational Tournament China from 5th – 19th January 2014 inclusive (matches 8-19 Jan). The tournament is being jointly organised by the FIP and the Equestrian Association of China and sponsored by the Goldin Group and Metropolitan Polo Club. The competition will played on snow in a 150 X 75 yard open ended field, with four foot high sideboards and three aside under FIP Snow Polo rules.
Flights, accommodation and team clothing will be provided for three players and one team substitute or manager. A retainer for each player will also be provided.
The Australian Polo Federation is calling for nominations from players’ one goal and above who wish to be considered for selection in the Australian representative team. Full details of international experience including any snow and arena polo experience should be included; preference may be given to those who have experience playing snow polo or other snow related winter sports.
Nominations close Tuesday 22nd October 2013 at 5pm AEDT.
